Yesterday was our 4th visit this year and my daughter who just turned six in May has been riding this ride and loving it! Yesterday a life guard told her she was too big and just simply took away her raft. I'm watching this all from the bottom of the ride. She came down with disapointment so i went up there with her to see a sign to the right stating you had to be under 48 inches. I asked the lifeguard if this was new and she said new this year with the ride and that most lifeguards are enforcing the rule. I measured my daughter and she is exactly 48 inches so not even 2 minutes later the lifeguards switch and kids a lot bigger than my daughter get to go down the ride.
Please enforce some consistancy! My daughter is tall for her age and it's really sad that a 6 years old can't go on this ride! |

I'm sorry your daughter has experienced inconsistency at our new kiddie slide, thanks for letting us know. The 48" height limit is for the safety of our guests. When we tested the new slide with riders of all shapes and sizes we found that children over 48" were more likely to flip at the bottom in the catch pool. The slide manufacturer, ProSlide, also gives us a 48" recommendation for the attraction.
Especially with guests very close to the height limits, consistency is something we have to work at every day. When a child is right on the borderline it often comes down to the judgement of each individual lifeguard, and they rotate attractions every half hour.
Our Aquatics Director said she'd review the height limit at Kiddie Kowabunga during this week's inservice. _________________ Tiffany Quilici, Director of Sales & Marketing
