World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

Thursday, June 20, 8:30am-10:15am • Roaring Springs Wave Pool

Roaring Springs Waterpark is proud to join in a worldwide effort to raise awareness about the vital importance of teaching kids to swim to help prevent drowning. On Thursday, June 20 at 8:30am, we invite children and adults to participate in a free 30-minute swimming lesson in the Wave Pool at Roaring Springs. The curriculum is an easy, beginner lesson.

Tens of thousands of participants from dozens of countries around the globe will take part in the 15th annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on June 20.

NOTE: Swim School students from all morning sessions are invited to participate in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson in place of their regularly scheduled lesson on Thurs, June 20. Make-up lessons will be offered on Fri, June 21 at your regularly scheduled time.

Drowning Prevention Facts:

  • Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death in children ages 1-14.

  • According to the American Red Cross, more than half of kids ages 4-17 cannot perform the basic water safety skills they need to save their own life.

  • Research shows the risk of drowning can be reduced by 88% if children participate in formal swimming lessons between ages 1-4.

Class Times

  • 8:00 – 8:30 am

  • 8:35 – 9:05 am

  • 9:10 – 9:40 am

  • 9:45 – 10:15 am

Each class runs Monday through Thursday for two weeks, with make-ups on Fridays. We will try to schedule siblings at the same time, or as close as possible.

All guests, including Season pass holders, who are participating in the 10am Swim School Session must exit the park at 10:30, and re-enter when the park opens.
